A Funny Thing Happened on the way to Hamelin. The children enthralled the audience with their fine performances, humorous script and spectacular scenery.
The Reception children performed The Rainbow Fishes for their yearly school production. Parents and friends were transported to a land beneath the sea where starfish and octopi mingle with jelly fish and tropical fish in a colourful musical extravaganza.
The Year 3 Production revisited the story of the tumultuous years of the Roman invasion of Britain and the rebellion of the Celts under Boudicca. Iona McBeath gave a terrifying performance as the Warrior Queen, ably assisted by Sophie Turkman as the Celtic Goddess Andraste. The disciplined Romans were led by the fierce Seutonius (Miles Seymour) and Catus (Zike Komakoma). The Romans were proud and strong and the Celts were wild and ferocious and every child took a full part in making the production a huge success. This year also saw the introduction of the new sound and lights which rounded off the whole performance to an almost professional level.
Year 1's production of 'Billy No Buzz' was a great success. It told the story of a lonely little bee called Billy, who had no buzz. Billy tried hard to make friends, but without any luck. Nobody wanted to play with him because he was different.
As the tale unfolded the other insects came to realise they had been unfair and unkind. They started to appreciate that everyone is special and differences should be celebrated.
Year 1 worked hard to learn lines, songs and dances, proving to be fantastic performers. The children themselves and the audience all thoroughly enjoyed the show.
